Balance Burn

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 September 2026

Overview

Balance Burn is an iPhone app that helps you spend down your Apple Account balance to exactly zero, so its country or region can be changed. It is an independent project made and operated by an individual developer, not a company. Balance Burn has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking technology of any kind.

What Balance Burn collects

Nothing that identifies you. Balance Burn does not collect, store, or transmit your name, email address, the balance you type in, your burn history, or any analytics, usage statistics, crash reports, or advertising identifiers. There is no sign-up and no login, so there is no account data to collect in the first place.

The balance never leaves your device

The amount you type in, and the combination of purchases Balance Burn works out for it, are computed entirely on your device. Nothing about your balance, your burn history, or how you use the app is sent anywhere. The app cannot read your Apple Account balance itself — no app can, since iOS gives none of them that access — which is exactly why you type it in by hand.

Local storage

Your burn history is stored locally on your device in the app's private on-device database. Balance Burn operates no server and no remote database, and has no means of accessing this data. Uninstalling the app removes it.

Network requests — none of the app's own

Balance Burn makes no network requests of its own. The only network activity involved in using the app is Apple's own In-App Purchase system (StoreKit), which contacts Apple directly to load the available purchases, complete one you choose, and confirm it went through. That exchange is between your device and Apple; it carries nothing about the balance you typed in or your burn history, and the developer never receives or has access to your payment details.

Purchases

Burning a balance uses small consumable in-app purchases, priced at the storefront's own available price points. All billing and payment collection is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's own Privacy Policy — the developer never sees your card details or billing address.

This website

This site is static HTML with no cookies, no analytics, and no tracking scripts of any kind. The one page that sends anything anywhere is the feedback form, and it sends what you type into it — your message, an email address if you chose to leave one, and which app the message is about. That submission is handled by the site's hosting provider, which forwards it through a third-party messaging service to a private chat the developer reads; the message, the optional email address, and the app name all sit with that third party. Messages stay in that chat until deleted by hand — nothing removes them automatically. None of it is used for anything other than replying to you.

Like any hosted site, the provider's infrastructure may log standard web-server data (such as IP addresses) as part of normal operation, independently of Balance Burn and of anything you do in the app. Providers are described here by what they are rather than by name, so that changing one is a deployment change and not a rewrite of this page.

Requesting deletion, or withdrawing consent

There is nothing collected here to delete or to withdraw consent for — Balance Burn doesn't hold anything about you on any server. If that ever changes, or if you have a question about it, the feedback form is the one route to reach the developer, and any such request is handled there.

Who is responsible

Balance Burn is made and operated by an independent individual developer, not a company. The feedback form is the way to reach them.

Children

Balance Burn collects no personal data from any user, of any age — there is no sign-up, no login, and no data sent anywhere except Apple's own purchase infrastructure described above, which carries no user-identifying information from the app. Because nothing is collected from anyone, there is nothing collected from a child either, and no parental-consent mechanism is needed, since there is no data gathered to consent to.
