Why this exists
A region change needs a balance of exactly zero — Apple checks for it, not "close to nothing."
Changing the country or region on an Apple Account is blocked outright while any balance remains on it, down to the smallest unit of the local currency. There's no setting that clears it and no way to withdraw it — the only way off is to spend every last bit through a purchase. The problem is that store credit doesn't come in the amount you happen to have.
How it works
This is a change-making problem, solved against the real price list.
Type the balance
Enter what your Apple Account shows. Balance Burn doesn't guess it and can't read it automatically — no app can — so it starts from the number you type in.
Auto-pick finds an exact combination
The app searches the storefront's actual in-app purchase price points — not a theoretical price ladder — for a combination that sums to your balance exactly. Where one exists, auto-pick is the fast path: it's selected for you, and the quantities stay adjustable by hand afterward if you'd rather change the mix.
When there's no exact match
Some amounts can't be built from any combination of price points. When that happens, Balance Burn reports the smallest amount it can zero, the step between one reachable amount and the next, and the threshold above which every amount is reachable — plus the smallest top-up that gets you there, so you know exactly how much to add and why.
What it looks like
A fire elemental that grows with everything you burn.
Every purchase feeds the same fire on screen — it grows from a Spark to an Ember, a Cinder, a Blaze, a Bonfire, and finally an Inferno as the burned total climbs toward zero. It's a receipt of what you're doing, not a distraction from it.
Decided, not missing
What Balance Burn doesn't do, and won't.
- NOReading your Apple Account balance. iOS gives no app access to it, Balance Burn included — that's exactly why you type it in.
- NOAn account or sign-up. Nothing to register, nothing to log into.
- NOAnalytics or tracking. No usage statistics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers.
- NONetwork calls of its own. The only thing the app talks to is Apple's own purchase infrastructure, to complete the purchases you choose.
- NOGuessed price points. The combinations it offers are built from the storefront's real price grid, not an assumed ladder of round numbers.
The quiet part
Nothing about your balance ever leaves your phone.
The amount you type and the purchases Balance Burn suggests are computed entirely on your device. Purchases themselves go through Apple's own In-App Purchase system — Apple handles payment, and the developer never sees your payment details. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
