License

Your use of the Finsumo app distributed on the App Store is governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA), which applies automatically because Finsumo does not provide a custom EULA of its own. This page is a short supplement covering a few practical points and the subscription terms; where anything here conflicts with Apple's EULA, the EULA governs.

What the app does

Finsumo helps you record and review your personal expenses and income across multiple currencies and cryptocurrencies. All of your data is stored locally on your device; see the Privacy Policy for the limited, anonymous network requests the app makes to fetch exchange rates, and for how backups work.

Eligibility

You represent that you are of legal age to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction and that your use of the app is lawful where you are located.

Your data is your responsibility

Because Finsumo stores your data locally on your device, with no developer-side backup:

• You are responsible for backing up your data, using the app's own export feature, its automatic local snapshots, or your device's own backup mechanisms.
• The developer cannot recover your data if your device is lost, damaged, reset, or the app is uninstalled without a backup having been made.
• Any backup file you export yourself is your responsibility once it leaves the app — where you save it, who else can access it, and how it is stored.

Not financial, tax, or investment advice

Finsumo is a personal record-keeping tool, not a financial, accounting, tax, or investment product. Exchange rates shown or used by the app are sourced from third-party services (an open-source exchange-rate dataset delivered via CDN, and CoinGecko) for informational purposes only and may be delayed, approximate, or occasionally inaccurate; frozen historical values recorded by the app at the time of a transaction are approximations. Nothing in the app constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice, and you should independently verify any figure you rely on for an official purpose such as tax filing.

Finsumo subscription

Finsumo is free to use as a single-currency expense tracker — no subscription is required to record transactions, use categories and tags, view your history, or back up and export your data. An optional, auto-renewable subscription ("Pro") unlocks the multi-currency features: recording a transaction in a currency other than your active one, reading a period in another currency, the Bitcoin/sats display lens, and refreshing historical exchange rates. The current price and any trial length are always shown in the app's purchase screen and on its App Store listing before you buy — deliberately not repeated here, since they can change and a stale figure in a legal document is worse than none.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel any time in your Apple ID subscription settings — the app's own subscription-management link opens them directly.

If your subscription ends, the app keeps working as a free single-currency expense tracker — none of your data is deleted. Only the Pro features listed above stop being available until you resubscribe.

If the price ever changes, Apple notifies subscribers in advance and asks for consent where its rules require it; the developer does not change what is billed silently.

Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's own terms, not by the developer — request one through Apple's official refund page.

What you're licensed to do

Apple's Standard EULA licenses you to use Finsumo on devices signed into your Apple ID, on Apple's licensing terms; that license covers the free app on its own. The subscription licenses use of the Pro features for as long as it is active, on the same terms. None of this transfers any ownership of the app or its source code. Your transaction data is yours, and the developer never sees it.

No warranty

Finsumo is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or availability. Finsumo does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any exchange rate, calculation, or stored value will be accurate or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the developer be liable for any claim, loss, or damages of any kind — direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — including but not limited to loss of data, inaccurate exchange rates, or decisions made in reliance on figures shown by the app, arising from or in connection with the app or your use of it. This applies whether the claim is based in contract, tort, or any other legal theory. Nothing in this section is intended to exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded; where a jurisdiction does not permit certain exclusions, this section applies to the maximum extent that jurisdiction allows.

Termination

You may stop using Finsumo at any time by uninstalling it. Because all data is stored locally, uninstalling without first exporting a backup permanently deletes your data (see "Your data is your responsibility" above).

If these terms change, the update is posted here with a new "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
