License

Your use of the ShotSumo app distributed on the Mac App Store is governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA), which applies automatically because ShotSumo does not provide a custom EULA of its own. This page is a short supplement covering a few practical points and the subscription terms; where anything here conflicts with Apple's EULA, the EULA governs.

ShotSumo Pro

ShotSumo Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, billed yearly, at $9.99 a year in the US — the App Store shows the price in your local currency before you confirm.

New subscribers get a two-week free trial, the App Store's introductory offer, available once per Apple ID. If you do nothing, it converts into the paid subscription when the trial ends.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal charge is made within 24 hours before that period ends. Manage or cancel any time in your Apple ID subscription settings — the app's Manage Subscription button opens them directly.

ShotSumo Pro unlocks four editor tools: Pixelate, Spotlight, the numbered Step badge, and export to AVIF or HEIC. Everything else — capturing, annotating, copying, and saving as PNG — is free, with no account and no time limit. There is no watermark.

Anyone who installed ShotSumo before version 2.0 keeps those four ShotSumo Pro tools unlocked, permanently, determined from the App Store's own record of the version originally downloaded. If the app doesn't recognise this, Restore Purchases re-checks it.

If the price ever changes, Apple notifies subscribers in advance and asks for consent where its rules require it; the developer does not change what is billed silently.

Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's own terms, not by the developer — request one through Apple's official refund page.

What you're licensed to do

Apple's Standard EULA licenses you to use ShotSumo on devices signed into your Apple ID, on Apple's licensing terms — capture and markup are covered by this at no cost, permanently. ShotSumo Pro — or your pre-2.0 access to it — licenses use of its four editor tools for as long as it is active, on the same terms. None of this transfers any ownership of the app or its source code.

The screenshots you take are yours, and the developer never sees them.

ShotSumo is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. It is not guaranteed to be error-free or uninterrupted.
